- How can I book in?
The best way is to drop in for a chat. We always have someone on hand to help guide you through the process however, it’s always worth ringing first and if we think you need it we’ll book a consultation with one of our artists.Remember that if you email we may take longer to respond and unfortunately computers and servers do sometimes let us down.
- Does it hurt?
Pain is very subjective and each person experiences their tattoo in a different way.In general we can assure you, it is more of a discomfort than scream out loud pain and if you pay attention to your artists instructions and you are in a relaxed frame of mind it will pass more swiftly and in some cases can even prove enjoyable.
- How much is a tattoo?
Each tattoo is individual and tailored to each client so it is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string. However, when you book in we always try to price your piece and work to the budget agreed. We offer various incentives to help you manage the cost of your tattoo and we pride ourselves on providing a first class service that remains within reach of most people.
- How old do you have to be?
In Tennessee, as with most states the laws states you must be 18 to be tattooed. We will ask for ID so please have something to hand (driving license, passport etc). There is no such thing as parental consent in this context, so please don’t drag your parents along to ask on your behalf it’s a photo ID or no tattoo.
- Can I bring my kids?
We really don’t recommend you bringing kids. This a tattoo studio is not a child friendly environment and they will not be allowed in the tattoo area at all. Also our reception staff do not double up as crèche workers.
- Can I drink or take drugs/medicaton before a treatment?
Absolutely not!! If you turn up for an appointment in any way intoxicated, we will refuse to tattoo you and you will lose your deposit.
- How do I know which artist is right for me?
All our artists work in multiple styles but by looking at their portfolios and listening to recommendations from the reception staff we will make sure you are matched perfectly with the artist that will best fulfil your needs.
- Can I have a tattoo inked anywhere on my body?
Although it is possible to tattoo anywhere on the body, it is not advisable to get very visible work done if you have few or no tattoos. Our artists will advise you on this and if they are not comfortable with either your motivation or understanding they may refuse to tattoo you.
- What should I do before my appointment?
Once you’ve booked in your appointment your artist will take care of your design work and preparation. Your job is to turn up clean, sober and well rested in plenty of time for your allotted slot. If you have an afternoon appointment, you can always ring ahead to check if your artist is running a bit behind or if they would like you in earlier.Tattooing is not a science it is an art. We cannot therefore always be held to time constraints, although we do our best not to keep you waiting around unduly.
- Do you do walk-ins?
We are essentially an appointment based studio but if an artist is free and you happen to drop in we will endeavour to accommodate you, however to get the best results and ultimate experience we would always recommend you making an appointment.
- Which artist will do my tattoo?
When you are being booked in, if you haven’t already chosen an artist for their outstanding portfolio, then the receptionist will suggest one based on your design and schedule.
- Can I bring my friends to watch?
We don’t recommend bringing groups of friends along. They can be a distraction and disruptive to the process and in any case, will not be allowed into the tattooing area and there is not a lot to keep you entertained in the waiting area. If, however, you wish to have a friend present for support we will allow them to hang out for a bit until you are settled with your artist after which, they would probably be better off going to look around Camden and coming back towards the end of your appointment.
- Do you have a long waiting list?
Despite our reputation we try and keep our lists short so, generally you can get in within a few weeks and often much sooner. It really depends on what you want and who you wish to do it, but in any case just pick up the phone and ask. We tend to be quieter in the colder months.
- Do I have to design the tattoo or do you do that?
We like you to have a good idea of what you want and it helps to put together a scrap book or mood board of images to help show us the direction you want to take. Our artists will draw and design on your behalf and the cost of this is absorbed into your tattoo, however do not treat them as an etcha sketch; they are very busy and need time to rest too.
- How do I look after my tattoo once it’s finished?
You will be given clear after care instructions when you arrive for your tattoo. The artist will go through it all again at the end as there are minor variations to the basic instructions and it is important to follow the artist’s advice carefully.
